Anglican Home Fellowship in Clark County & Northwest Springfield, Ohio
The Anglican Way
Anglican expressions of Christianity do not promise quick fixes to contemporary cultural challenges. Anglicans often experience real peace, joy, and strength found in the traditional ways of Christian worship and prayer. That kind of way, the Anglican Way of Christian living, can make a difference in people living in an anxious modern world.
Springfield Ohio Anglican exists to help people rediscover the stability, beauty, and hope of Jesus Christ through biblical, traditional Christian worship. We purpose to glorify God, to be honest about our daily need for forgiveness, and to regularly gather around Word and Sacrament. We purpose to make disciples of Jesus Christ and to bring the healing good news of Jesus to Clark County, Ohio — through the faith received from Jesus and the Apostles as expressed in the Holy Bible and the Book of Common Prayer.
Come discover a Christian community rooted in and oriented toward Jesus Christ. We offer a reverent encounter with God; we are not focused on entertainment or the latest fads. We are serious about the Bible and strive to be faithful to the Apostolic tradition entrusted to the Church. In the face of rampant consumerism, we offer participation in worship where we seek a holy God and humble ourselves together. We offer an experience of the beauty of ancient, biblical worship centered on time-tested forms of prayer, God's Word, and the Holy Table.
You're Invited To Get Involved
How shall they hear without a preacher?... So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God." (Romans 10:14, 17)
We believe God is calling a community of biblical Christians together here — and we're inviting you to help build it, from the ground up by praying together. We are a small group that meets for prayer and fellowship regularly. Please join us.
Here is how you can get involved:
Worship and prayer in small home groups
"Evening, and morning, and at noon, will I pray, and cry aloud: and he shall hear my voice." — Psalm 55:17
We're forming a group of Christians committed to the ancient discipline of the Daily Office, interceding for Springfield and Clark County. If the rhythm of biblical, historic prayer draws you, please contact us.
"And they continued stedfastly in the apostles' doctrine and fellowship, and in breaking of bread, and in prayers." — Acts 2:42
Every Christian community begins as a handful of committed people. We're building a founding community based on God's Word, Holy Communion, and prayer.
Evening prayer for mission
"For the perfecting of the saints, for the work of the ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ: Till we all come in the unity of the faith, and of the knowledge of the Son of God, unto a perfect man, unto the measure of the stature of the fulness of Christ." — Ephesians 4:12–13
We take seriously Jesus Christ's Great Commission — forming Christians in doctrine, character, and mission, by means of God's Word and Sacrament.
Annual Blessing of the Animals in October
"As we have therefore opportunity, let us do good unto all men, especially unto them who are of the household of faith."— Galatians 6:10
Word, Sacrament, and a lively faith without good works serving others is like training for a race never run. We intend to be known in this county for tangible, Spirit-led service toward others. Help us with volunteering, prayer walks, handing out free water at local sports venues, special events like the annual blessing of animals, and other community related activities.
What Can You Expect?
You will not be expected to know Anglican customs or how to use the Book of Common Prayer.
You will not be pressured for anything.
You will find other people who want to build, who aren't perfect, who are tired of the mainstream church experience, and others who are searching for depth.
You will find ancient forms of prayer and worship, warm fellowship, and people seeking Jesus Christ together.
